🚫 Anti-Ragging Policy
St. John’s College of Nursing enforces a Zero-Tolerance Policy against ragging in any form. The institution is firmly committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus where every student can learn and grow without fear or discrimination.
Institutional Framework
- An Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Cell are constituted as per Indian Nursing Council (INC), UGC, and State Government norms.
- The committee includes the Principal, Vice Principal, faculty members, hostel wardens, and student representatives.
- Regular meetings and awareness sessions are conducted to ensure continuous vigilance.
Monitoring and Prevention
- 24×7 CCTV surveillance in hostels, corridors, and public areas.
- Orientation programs during induction week on:
- What constitutes ragging
- How to report incidents
- Legal implications and penalties
- Strict adherence to UGC Anti-Ragging Regulations, 2009.
Reporting and Redressal
- A confidential grievance mechanism enables students to report concerns without fear.
- Contact details of committee members and helpline numbers are displayed across campus and hostels.
- Complaints can be lodged in person, via email, or anonymously.
Disciplinary Action
Any student found guilty of ragging shall face severe disciplinary and legal consequences, including:
- Suspension or expulsion from the college
- Cancellation of admission
- Criminal proceedings as per law
All students and parents must sign a mandatory Anti-Ragging Undertaking at the time of admission, pledging to uphold the institution’s values of respect and integrity.
“Ragging is not just prohibited — it is actively prevented through awareness, discipline, and empathy.”
